I am a Second Degree Reiki practitioner, recognized by the International Association of Reiki Practitioners, and is constantly continuing her training to deepen her abilities and reach higher levels of certification. Reiki can be a powerful treatment for physical and emotional health. The benefits of reiki include: reducing stress, anxiety, and pain; improving sleep quality; reducing inflammation; and improving overall physical and emotional well-being. My clients typically report feeling both relaxed and energized after completing a session.
What is reiki? Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-invasive form of natural hands-on, energy-based healing. Reiki originated in Japan in the early 1900s and is widely used in many settings, including medical facilities. The term Reiki comes from the Japanese words “rei,” which means universal, and “ki,” which means vital energy that flows through all living things. Reiki assists in balancing your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being to promote a deep sense of relaxation.
What to expect in a session? Sarah offers Reiki within the comfort of her healing "Zen Den". Sessions are fully clothed and conducted on a comfortable massage table; blankets are available to keep you warm if desired. Using light or no touch, Sarah will gently pace her hands on, or near your body, in specific locations. The length of time that the Sarah leaves her hands in each position is determined by the flow of energy through her hands to you at each location. You may experience the energy as sensations such as heat, tingling, or pulsing where her hands are placed on your body, or you may feel these sensations move through your body to other locations. Some people may not perceive any change at all. Most people feel very relaxed and peaceful; many clients even fall asleep while receiving a Reiki treatment.
Does Reiki replace traditional medical or therapeutic treatments? Reiki complements all other types of medical and therapeutic treatments. Reiki is not a substitute for consultation with a physician, a practitioner of natural therapeutics or a psychotherapist. Reiki increases the efficacy of all these other types of healing. Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-invasive form of natural hands-on healing.
Please contact me to schedule a reiki session. Sessions generally last one hour and are conducted in my home office in the Ballantyne Area. I do travel to clients if the need arises. One hour sessions currently run $50 and will increase in accordance with my future certification levels.
